LilCreations jewellery is designed to fit into real life. Many of our pieces are crafted from durable stainless steel and finished with gold plating, making them water resistant and highly resistant to tarnishing. Pieces specifically marked as waterproof are designed to handle normal everyday water exposure, so you do not need to constantly remove your jewellery for everyday activities such as showering or exercising.

Everyday Wear

Our waterproof stainless-steel pieces can be worn during normal day-to-day activities and around water. However, gold plating is still a surface finish. To help preserve its colour and shine for as long as possible, we recommend treating your jewellery with care.

How to Keep Your Jewellery Looking Beautiful
  • Avoid prolonged or repeated exposure to chlorine, salt water and harsh chemicals.
  • Apply perfume, hairspray, moisturiser and other beauty products before putting on your jewellery where possible.
  • After swimming, exercising or heavy water exposure, rinse away residue if needed and gently dry your jewellery with a soft, clean cloth.
  • Avoid abrasive cleaners, polishing compounds and rough cloths, which can wear the plated finish.
  • Avoid pulling, bending or placing unnecessary pressure on delicate chains, clasps and settings.
Waterproof vs. Water Resistant

Only products specifically described by LilCreations as waterproof should be treated as suitable for regular everyday water exposure. Other materials or finishes may require additional care. Always check the individual product description for the material and care information that applies to your piece.

About Gold Plating

Gold-plated jewellery has a layer of gold applied over a base metal. With normal wear, the appearance of the finish can gradually change over time. How quickly this occurs can vary depending on wear, skin chemistry, products used on the skin and exposure to chemicals. Following these care recommendations will help your jewellery maintain its finish for longer.

A Simple Care Routine

After wearing your jewellery, gently wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. This helps remove oils, moisture and product residue and is one of the easiest ways to keep your pieces looking fresh.
